Mission

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT)’s bikesharing program, Capital Bikeshare, is in partnership with 8 jurisdictions: Washington, DC.; Arlington, VA; Alexandria, VA; Montgomery, MD; Prince George's County, MD; Fairfax County, VA; City of Fairfax, VA; and the City of Falls Church, VA

With Capital Bikeshare, you can take a bicycle from more than 700 stations across the Washington, DC, metro region and return it to any station near your destination. Check out a bike for your trip to work, Metro, run errands, go shopping, or visit friends and family.

Join Capital Bikeshare for 24 hours, 30 days, a year, or for a single trip and have access to our fleet of bikes 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The first 45 minutes of each trip are free. Each additional minute incurs an additional fee. Since its launch in September 2010, riders have taken over 27 million trips. Download the mobile app for real-time bike availability.
