Interns

Summer Interns

• Recruiting: not a lot of hits so far. Melissa reached out to local universities when positions initially posted. Did another round last week. 
  • Melissa has posted to Handshake, MD Terps site, GMU's system
  • DDOT did a non-release media posting - https://ddot.dc.gov/release/ddot-and-howard-university-announce-summer-2022-research-internship-program + is posting on social media (Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Stephanie sent to the intern interest names, posted to YIPPS
  • Challenge might be this week might be spring break - students aren't around
  • 30 total applications (maybe 25 applicants given that some have applied to more than one position)
• Due date extension: March 25 or 30th
• Possible issue that we are not fully remote?
• Impact of press releases - Press releases get picked up by newsletters and such, 2020 was still really good, even with late press release.

Semester Interns

• Issue last pay period with Caitlyn's payment, she'll be paid on Monday (and has been alerted)

Projects

Right Hook Study

• Microtraffic has a copy of the sub-agreement
• HU meeting with Microtraffic next Wednesday to see what they need
• This will test out the new task order process

Tax Revenue and Telecommuting

• Meeting on Friday
• No invoices seen yet

Advisory Bicycle Lanes

• Internal DDOT meeting this afternoon - following up on data we already got and remaining site schedule

New Projects

• Sidewalk LiDAR: Need to confirm UMass will sign subagreement before Ting's project gets to obligation
• Curb murals: PSU and UNC have terms already, have not heard from them since
• Commuter Benefits: no contracting issues, meeting with Marina on Friday

Program Administration

Staff updates: copy everyone on all emails

Would like to schedule a kick-off - need to know when OCP is ready
