Circulator
Mission
The DC Circulator bus service will begin a phased-in shutdown on October 1, 2024 and end completely on December 31, 2024.
DDOT shall operate the DC Circulator (Circulator), a local, fixed-route passenger bus service that operates primarily within the District of Columbia, with limited service to Arlington, Virginia. The purpose of the Circulator is to relieve transportation congestion and improve the mobility of residents, workers, and tourists. DDOT shall consider implementing additional routes in the other areas of the city to connect residents and visitors to commercial centers and tourist attractions and to augment existing transit routes operated by the Washington Area Metropolitan Transit Authority (WMATA). DDOT is responsible for the planning, development, financing, operation, control, and regulation of the DC Circulator. (D.C. Code Sec. 50-921.32).
